Welsh tipple scoops 'beer Oscar' Sep 27 2005

Western Mail

A WELSH tipple has scooped an award at the Oscars of the beer world. Brains Dark Smooth won the accolade at the Brewing Industry International Awards in Munich. The Cardiff brew won a gold medal in the International Dark Milds, Stouts and Porters competition. The accolade follows the beer's silver medal at the Great British Beer Festival in August. Richard Davies, marketing director for SA Brain, said, "In the brewing world, these are the most prestigious awards you can win."
