Pob Lwc!*

*Pob means each, every, or all .. and lwc means luck. ... "Each, Every, and All Luck!" in just two quick, little words!

Pob Lwc! is an idiom, a phrase that loses its punch when translated literally. The English equivalent is Good Luck!

How is Pob Lwc pronounced? The o sounds like the o in more. The w is a vowel, too. It sounds like the oo in cool.  The Welsh c is always pronounced like the c in cat, never like the c in price. P, b, and l are the same as in English.

Lwc sounds a LOT like luck. Can you explain that? ... Other words for luck in the Collins Gem English-Welsh dictionary are damwain, hap, and ffawd. Damwain ALSO means accident. It's certainly best to check all the English meanings of a Welsh word before using it!

"While some Welsh castles fit neatly into the category of 'medieval,' others are more difficult to classify, often because the castle site was used by a succession of settlers or invaders over the centuries. Both Norman and native Welsh castle builders at times built their castles or strongholds over the remains of earlier Iron-Age, Roman, post-Roman British or Saxon fortifications. Such is the case with the castle at Dinas Powys." Dinas Powys Castle

This castle has a commanding presence as can be seen in these additional pictures of it.
