Great Chance

to Know More About Your Roots

Come join us on Saturday, October 16,

2004, as we take a bus tour on the Welsh Scenic Byway! We'll visit three area churches - with historical enactors - and the Welsh American Heritage Museum's documents dealing with the Welsh settlement of the area.

We will leave from the southeast corner of Kingsdale Shopping Center (on the Northwest Boulevard side) at 8 a.m., and will go to Jackson County, Ohio, where we'll pick up tour guides Kara Lewis and Mike Streuble. Kara and Mike will give us an in depth look at the history of the area and why and how the Welsh settled there.

We'll visit Moriah Church and Cemetery, Tyn Rhos Church and Cemetery, and Horeb Church and Cemetery to learn more about the history and founders of some of the Welsh churches in Jackson County. Historical reenactors will be at Moriah and at Horeb for a treat that we've never experienced before.

Cost of the tour is $35 and we'll stop for lunch at Bob Evans' Farm (not included in cost of the tour), where Bob himself has been invited to join us. On the way back, we'll also stop for tea or dinner (this is not included in the cost). Please send your check, made out to WSCO, to Mary Ellen Morgan, 1963 Wickford Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221. She may be contacted at 4880007 or at MEMorgan2@aol.com. Space is limited to 40 seats, so please get your reservations in early.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:

A painting is poetry which is seen and not heard, and poetry is a painting which is heard and not seen.
